You can check out one of our blog posts for the benefits of cross promotion. In a nutshell, here are the major benefits:
  1. Cross promotion campaigns yield significantly higher ROIs than online marketing campaigns because most cross promotion campaigns are free.
  2. Cross promotion campaigns are much more engaging for customers unlike ads which are often frustrating.
  3. Cross promotions build customer loyalty when customers are gratified with offers of another brand.
  4. You can explore limitless channels in cross promotion, which are otherwise not possible in online advertising (e.g. push notifications)
  5. Each cross promotion brand partner can unlock fresh customer segments for your brand.
  6. Cross promotions can sometimes create new revenue streams (e.g. co-branded products)
  7. If you choose the right brand partner, cross promotions can increase brand equity and help reiterate your brand positioning.
Several brands currently run cross promotion campaigns without the platform but that leads to several challenges that Madneto can solve:
  1. There is a limit to the number of brands you may know personally. Madneto allows you to explore thousands of brands on the platform that you may not know personally.
  2. Cross promotions can be difficult to execute. One campaign sometimes involves hundreds of emails to decide the promotional channels, creatives, launch dates, offers, terms and campaign details. Madneto makes it super easy to execute!
  3. Cross promotions are often not measured by brands. This is because popular tools (like Google Analytics) only allow you to measure your own traffic but it is not possible to use these tools to measure impressions generated by your brand partner to promote your campaign. Madneto makes this possible!
  4. Most brand partnerships today are partnerships of equals (partnerships forged with brands of similar size). This is because if both brands are of similar size, they would generate a similar number of impressions for each other. However, there is no way to equalize impressions if a brand generates more impressions for another. Madneto makes it possible to do that through its impression credit system.
  5. Vetting of legal agreements for cross promotion partnerships can take time. On Madneto, each brand agrees to the terms with us, and so you don't need to go through the hassle of involving your legal team for each brand partnership.
This is a common misconception. Google Analytics can only measure impressions on your own website, not your brand partners' websites. Here's what Google Analytics (or other such tools) cannot measure:
  • Web analytics tools cannot measure impressions generated by your brand partner (on the partner's website) to promote your campaign.
  • Web analytics tools may be able to measure clicks generated by your brand partner's website if the clicks redirect to your website. However, quite often, brand partners will not redirect to your website and will use a landing page on the brand partner website instead. In these cases, your web analytics tool cannot even measure clicks.
The same applies for all the other channels besides website as well (e.g. push notifications, social media, etc.).

Don't worry! Madneto can measure both impressions and clicks (generated by you or your brand partner) in all possible scenarios.
Madneto has an impression credit system. Let's say brand A generates 10 million impressions for brand B, while brand B generates 5 million impressions for brand A. In this case, brand A would have a positive impression credit balance of 5 million and brand B will have a negative impression credit balance of 5 million.

Brand A can utilize its impression credits by either partnering with a larger brand that generates more impressions for brand A or by partnering with a brand that promotes brand A but does not need brand A to promote itself.

Brand B, on the other hand, can either promote another brand without asking to be promoted, or buy impression credits from Madneto.

This allows you to partner with brands that may even be larger or smaller than you without having to worry about the impressions or clicks you generate.
Madneto supports the following promotional channels for cross promotion campaigns:
  1. Web Display
  2. Mobile Display
  3. Email
  4. Web Push Notifications
  5. Mobile Push Notifications
  6. SMS
  7. Facebook
  8. Twitter
  9. Instagram
  10. Physical Vouchers
Please note that we do not currently support measurement of physical vouchers. However, the measurement of all other promotional channels is supported.

You can view our pricing plans here. Each subscription plan has a validity period, impression balance and partnership request balance.

Impression balance denotes the maximum number of impressions that other brands can generate to promote you. Partnership request balance means the maximum number of partnership requests you can send to other brands.

In case your plan is valid but you have run out of impression balance, you can buy impressions as well.
Impression balance means the number of impressions that other brands can generate to promote you, before you need to either buy impressions, renew or upgrade your plan. Your impression balance will be reduced by the number of impressions generated by other brands at the expiry of each cross promotion that you run.

Impression credit balance means the net impressions that you have generated. This is calculated as the impressions generated by you for other brands minus the impressions generated by other brands for you. This balance is also updated at the expiry of each cross promotion.
We define an impression as one customer view. However, a web banner impression may not hold the same importance as say an email impression. So, here is how we define impressions across channels:
  1. A web banner that is larger or equal than 300 px x 600 px in area, is counted as 3 impressions.
  2. A web banner that is larger or equal than 300 px x 250 px in area, is counted as 2 impressions.
  3. A web banner that is less than 300 px x 250 px in area, is counted as 1 impression.
  4. Mobile banners, push notifications and email views are counted as 2 impressions.
  5. Views are not measured for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and SMS channels. For these channels only clicks are measured and each click is counted as 100 impressions (assuming a 1% click-through-rate).
  6. Physical voucher distributions are not measured. Each physical voucher distribution (as specified by the brand on the platform) is counted as 1 impression.
